Requests for adminship is the process by which the Potatopedia users decide whether a user should become or not a Potatopedia administrator by voting.

About the requests

A request for adminship is opened when a user wants to nominate another user to become an admin or one user autonominates themselves. Keep in mind that if you're nominating another user, the nominee should be aware and agree to open the request.

Process

The process consists of a voting which lasts for 14 days. After the voting is closed, if there is at least a 75% of votes in favor the user should be given administrator rights.

Requirements

Based on the fact that administrators are trusted users of the community there are several basic requirements to be a nominee. Also, to be a voter certain requirements must be met. The requirements are the following:

Nominee

  • Account created at least a month before opening the request.

Voters

  • Be an autoconfirmed user.
  • Account created before the request is opened.

Exceptions

There is an exception to these requirements: administrators can nominate users even if they don't meet the requirements, and administrators can also vote even if they don't meet the requirements.

Nominations

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else, go to this page and follow the instructions listed there.
